Call of the Night  is an anime about Kou Yamori, a middle school student who has trouble understanding love. He stops attending school, finding little reason to conform to the norms. Due to insomnia, he begins to wander the streets at night. He meets a girl named Nazuna Nanakusa who claims people can't sleep due to dissatisfaction with their day.¹ Nazuna invites Kou over to her place to help him with his insomnia. Kou and Nazuna share a futon after she convinces him to. Feeling uneasy, Kou pretends to fall asleep and Nazuna bites his neck. She is a vampire. Having been biten, Kou wonders why isn't also a vampire. He learns that in order to become a vampire, you must be bitten by someone he loves.
