Racehorses with great accomplishments are reincarnated into a parallel world as umamimiᵃ. They continue their lives in this other world by racing. Special Week is the name of one such unamimi. She joins the Tracen Academy with the desire to become the best racehorse in Japan. At the academy, Special Week sees another umamimi named Silence Suzuka. Special Week is inspired to become a racer like her and is even recruited into Silence Suzuka's team, Spica.¹
Immodesty
As is common in anime, female characters wear short skirts. Immodesty is not pleasing to the Lord. According to IMDb, characters' bodies are complimented and the trainer (the one who is complimenting) is called a pervert.² Is this really something God would want us to fill our minds with?
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8)
Is it "pure" or "lovely" to fill your mind with perverted things? Is it "honest" or "just"? Of course not! These things are not from God, nor do they please Him. They are ungodly things the world wants us to corrupt our minds with.
Hybridity
One of anime's most well-recognized features (as a whole) are the demi-humans (half-human, half-animal). In this particular anime, it is the umamimi, the horse girls. But what does God think of such creatures? Does the Lord find this acceptable or not?
Of course, He does not support it. If He meant humans to be mixed with animals in any way whatsoever, He would have made it Himself. However, God has put a clear divide between people and beasts. Do you really think the Lord would find it acceptable to change the very essence of mankind?
The scriptures are very clear regarding mankind and our differentiation from animals. Animals and man are completely different. With that in mind, since the Lord does not want humans and animals to mix, why would it be okay to do so with fictional characters? Does that not subtly undermine scriptural separation? Does that not teach us these things are okay?
Profanity
Lastly, this anime also has profanity.³ Language is very important to the Lord, because we are warned many times about the language we involve ourselves with. According to Proverbs 4:24, we are to put the "froward mouth" and "perverse lips" far from us. Not "a little ways away," but far, far away.
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners." (1 Corinthians 15:33)
Let us, who are of the day, be mindful of the things we surround ourselves with! The Lord is so very clear, what we allow ourselves to commune with will have some sort of effect on you. Let's obey Jehovah God and forsake the evil lips, the perverse and froward mouth!
Conclusion
Uma Musume: Pretty Derby is another anime that is unbiblical and wicked. May we forsake this show and instead fill our minds with media and content that is in accordance with the scriptures! I pray this blog post has revealed things to you.

Notes:
a. An ウマ娘 (uma musume) is a "horse daughter" or a "horse girl." A parallel would be ネコ娘 (neko musume), "cat daughter/girl." Just like neko musume are also called ネコ耳 (nekomimi), so too uma musume are sometimes referred to as an ウマ耳 (umamimi).
