This anime is about a man named Hitoyoshi Yokoya who wakes up one day to find a girl at his door. This woman asks to be his servant, having been referred there by her former master. However, she has a dark past as an assassin. Scared by this knowledge, Hitoyoshi sends her away.¹ This doesn't last long as Hitoyoshi rushes after her, intending to return something she'd accidentally left behind. In his rush, he almost gets hit by a truck, but is saved by the mysterious woman. Hitoyoshi brings her in.
