Pseudo Harem

Pseudo Harem  (Japanese: 疑似ハーレム  Giji Hāremu ) is an anime about two high school students: Eiji and Rin, a member of the school's drama club. Eiji has a desire to have his own harem, and Rin decides to help him achieve this goal. Instead of him getting an actual harem, Rin uses her acting skills to play the personalities of multiple women, creating a fake harem for Eiji. Meanwhile, "the real Rin Nanakura tries her best to win Eiji's heart."¹ Immodesty "Arguably one of the cleanest anime ever"² When one sees a statement like this, the question is raised: "According to whom?" We can claim that  Pseudo Harem  is a clean show, but according to whom? And not only who, but we must also inquire about that person's standards that lead them to make such a claim. Another entry on IMDb mentions a female character in a swimsuit. From this, we can conclude that this "cleanest anime ever" title is from a  worldly  perspective, not a biblical one. W...

Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister

This anime is about a man named Uryuu Kamihate, who became an atheist after his mother passed away. His desire is to become a doctor; hence, he is very studious, striving to gain admission to Kyoto University. In an attempt to move away from the orphanage, he moves in with the Amagami family in their Amagami Shrine.¹ He is now living in a household with three sisters, who are the shrine maidens. There's an issue, however. Chidori Amagami, the head priest, tells Uryuu that he must marry one of the three sisters to protect the shrine's future. How will this atheist, living in a Shinto shrine, manage?¹ Sexual Content There's both sexual imagery and sexual speech in this anime.² According to IMDb, women are seen in their undergarments several times, alongside "accidental groping" and cleavage.³ These things are not alright. God says that women are to be modestly dressed, which means we are not to watch shows where they're not! "[9] In like manner also, that w...

You Are Ms. Servant

This anime is about a man named Hitoyoshi Yokoya who wakes up one day to find a girl at his door. This woman asks to be his servant, having been referred there by her former master. However, she has a dark past as an assassin. Scared by this knowledge, Hitoyoshi sends her away.¹ This doesn't last long as Hitoyoshi rushes after her, intending to return something she'd accidentally left behind. In his rush, he almost gets hit by a truck, but is saved by the mysterious woman. Hitoyoshi brings her in. Despite having requested to be his maid, she has no domestic abilities, yet Hitoyoshi names her Yuki and takes her in, offering her a chance to start a new life.¹ Violence There is some violence in the show.² Common Sense Media says Yuki has flashbacks of when she was an assassin.³ Additionally, listed are "dangerous situations like kidnapping, combat, ... lasers, guns, super strength, punching, kicking, blades, whips, and bombs."³ The Scriptures are clear that violence is ...

The Future Diary

The Future Diary  is an anime about the middle school boy Yukiteru Amano. He records his daily activities in his phone, using it as a digital diary. Yukiteru has two supposedly imaginary friends, Deus Ex Machina—"the god of time and space"—and Mur Mur. However, Yukiteru's world is about to turn upside down as his diary updates itself, detailing soon-to-be events that are yet to unfold.¹ He soon learns that one of his classmates, Yuno Gasai, also has a similar diary. Later, in a meeting with ten others, Deus Ex Machina reveals that they are to seek and eliminate the other contestants, becoming Deus Ex Machina's successor. Yukiteru and Yuno must use their cellphones-turned-future diaries to survive deadly battles.¹ Violence The whole plot of this anime is about trying to survive/win a fight to the death between twelve contestants. As such, it is obvious that the show would be full of violence. Crunchyroll lists the anime as 18+, with violence as one of the content warni...

Black Bullet

Black Bullet is an anime about humans and a virus called Gastrea. This virus turns its victims into monsters. However, Gastrea has one weakness: a material known as Varanium. To combat the Gastrea virus, there are female children known as Initiators, also referred to as "Cursed Children." The Initiators' bodies have minute amounts of Gastrea, granting them superhuman powers. Initiators are assigned partners, called Promoters, whose role is to protect their Initiator. One such pair is that of Enju Aihara (Initiator) and Satomi Rentaro (Promoter), who fight Gastrea in Tokyo.¹ Improper Clothing and Pedophilia There are some immodest things in this show. For example, girls wear short skirts, and there are bathing scenes². This anime sexualizes the young girls, and this is not godly! One blog notes that the show hypersexualizes loli (that is, young female) characters.³ The Scriptures instruct women to dress modestly (1 Timothy 2:9). Yet, this anime not only goes contrary to t...

Komi Can't Communicate

Shouko Komi is a popular girl in high school. However, she has an issue: she has a severe case of social anxiety and is unable to communicate with her classmates. When Hitohito Tadano and Komi were alone in a classroom, Komi was forced to communicate with Tadano via the blackboard. After learning of Komi's desire to make one hundred friends, Tadano chooses to help her, becoming her first friend.¹ Immodesty As with many rom-com anime, inappropriate clothing is found. It's not just short skirts, though that is part of it. There are other things in the show that are considered immodest. "There's an episode where Komi and her friends go to the pool. Once the group of girls are changed into bikinis, 3 boys rate their bodies." "A girl gives another girl a nude statue of herself"² "Lots of cinematic shots of school girls' upper thighs in short skirts."³ This is not pleasing to the Lord. When God commanded women to cover themselves modestly, that d...

The Familiar of Zero

A self-focused magician, Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière (what a mouthful), is a student at the Tristain Academy. However, there is an issue: "Louise is unable to cast magic properly, earning her the nickname of 'Louise the Zero' from her classmates."¹ The first-year students perform a summoning ritual, and Louise's ends in an explosion. When everything clears, however, there is a human, Saito Hiraga. Since Louise summoned him, he is treated like her slave. They find a brand on Saito's hand which "is believed to be the mark of a powerful familiar named Gandalfr."¹ Sexual Content In this anime, women wear short skirts, and some have exposed cleavages. There is also other sexual content,⁽²⁾⁽³⁾ such as a woman on the front of a porn magazine, people in baths, people dressing in revealing kemonomimi outfits, and a woman using her body to keep a guy warm.⁴ This alone should alert the Christian to the immorality in this show. People should wear cl...
