The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!

A demon named Jahy became child-sized after she lost her powers to a magical girl.¹ The mana crystal was destroyed, the same crystal that powered the Dark Realm, where Jahy was second strongest.² She plans to fix the mana crystal and empower the Dark Realm once more.² However, whilst she does that, she needs a place to eat and sleep, which forces her to get a part-time job to pay rent.²

Sexual Content

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! has sexual content and immodesty in it.³ Examples include Jahy's "powerful form" wearing revealing clothes.⁴ Additionally, Jahy wears braids, and her nakedness is seen, since she's wearing a shirt that reaches to her upper/mid thighs.¹

Let's consider what the Scriptures say about clothing. Jahy is a humanoid figure, and yet, as mentioned, she is not clothed properly. The Bible commands women to wear modest clothing (1 Timothy 2:9). Jahy doesn't, and of course, this is contrary to Scripture.

Proverbs tells us of a certain type of clothing known as the "attire of an harlot" (Proverbs 7:10). There is clothing that is inherently immodest and some that is modest. But Jahy isn't wearing the modest dress, she is wearing the attire of a harlot.

The Hated of God

The Lord tells us in His Word that He hates those who take pleasure in violence.

"The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth." (Psalm 11:5)

This is powerful language, and brooks no argument. Since this anime contains violence,³ magical fights, if someone enjoys watching it, the Bible says God hates them. Such content is against the Scriptures, regardless of the viewer's enjoyment or lack thereof.

In Genesis, one of the reasons it says God destroyed the world was because of their violence. Genesis 6:11 says:

"The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence." (Ibid.)

If the Lord is willing to destroy the world for violence, why would He be okay with His children enjoying the same thing that grieves Him?

Perverse Tongues

God admonishes us through His Word, revealing that we have something to guard. He then tells us ways to protect this thing. Let me reveal this thing to be guarded using what the Scripture says:

"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." (Proverbs 4:23)

We are to keep, or protect, our hearts! Why, though? It's because the goings-out of life come from the heart. So, how does the Lord want us to protect our hearts? One way is explained in the very next verse.

"Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee." (Proverbs 4:24)

Please, reader, reread that verse again, maybe read the two together. It says, as plain as day, to put the froward mouth and perverse lips far from us. When one takes the passage for what it says, it becomes abundantly clear that the LORD's will is for us to not watch anime (like The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) that contain profanity and perverse talk.

Defiling Wine

Sadly, there is also alcohol and drunkenness.⁴ The Bible reveals to us that such things are not alright.

"And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;" (Ephesians 5:18)

Drunkenness is the opposite of being filled with the Spirit of God. Yet, often, Christians think it is fine to consume media depicting being drunk. If being drunk with wine is not being filled with the Spirit, then there is no Spirit of God in this anime.

This leads into the next section. If the show does not have the Spirit of God working for it, then what spirits are using this show to push their agenda?

Zoroastrian Demonology

Jahy is a Zoroastrian devil. In Zoroastrian thought, there is a demoness of lust named Jahi. Now, Jahy in this show wears clothing that is revealing, especially when she is fully powered. Taking this into consideration, I don't believe it is a stretch to connect Jahy and Jahi.

Jahy's Japanese name is ジャヒー (jahī), which is the Japanese transliteration of Jahi, according to Jisho.org.⁵ As such, the Jahy–Jahi connection is baked into the Japanese. It is alarming that an anime would have its protagonist be a Zoroastrian demoness, isn't it?

And before someone accuses me of stretching the situation, it is worth mentioning that there are two other demons named Druj and Saurva—two more demonesses from Zoroastrianism!

When someone lets this anime into their house, they are inviting demonic activity into their life. The Bible says that we are not to even touch the unclean things (2 Corinthians 6:17). You have two choices: drink the cup of the Lord or the cup of devils, to be a partaker of the Lord's table or of the table of devils (1 Corinthians 10:21). Which will you choose?

Conclusion

"Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing." (Deuteronomy 7:26)

This is a show containing abominations. As such, this anime is one of those things we are directly commanded not to bring into our houses. May the Lord help us be submissive to His will and Word, that we might put away the abominations from our houses!

Against Anime

180AD "Against Heresies" - Irenaeus 2025AD "Against Anime" - Kenyon Bowers I believe watching most, if not all anime, to be sinful. One may ask how I can make such a brazen statement. That's what this essay is for; I'd like to explain my case against anime. What is Anime? We must first define "anime." Anime, as I have gathered, refers to animation originating from Japan. This means that American cartoons (even if they look like anime) are not considered proper anime. Now, there's a little nuance as some consider donghua (Chinese animations) and Korean animations to be anime, while others make distinctions. For the purpose of this blog, we go with the latter definition which excludes donghua and Korean animation (though there is sometimes overlap). Thus, the running definition for anime I've come up with is: Anime , noun : Animation originating from Japan.  Why is Anime Bad? Now that we have a definition for anime, let's look at wha...

Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence

For this anime, it was hard to pin anything down. Not because there aren't things in it, but because neither IMDb nor Common Sense Media have anything written about its contents. I had watched this show soon after it was released (yes, I used to watch anime) so most of what I say is based upon my memory, but I tried to find sources for accuracy. Ecumenical Christianity This show has many crosses throughout. Lawrence (the pastor) and Cecilia (the saint) run the church right outside their town. Due to the usage of "pastor" and "saint," the crosses, and the church looking like the average old-time Baptist church, many have claimed the anime as a "Christian anime." The term "pastor" is mostly associated with non-denominational and Baptist groups while calling someone a "saint" (in an unbiblical sense) tends to be Catholic and Orthodox. Additionally, the way the "church" in this world is, it is somewhat of an ecclesiastical hi...

Christian Anime Podcast Exposed

"Fiction doesn't condone sin." - Kenyon Bowers There is a YouTuber with a couple thousand subscribers known as "Christian Anime Podcast." He claims he is "The leading Christian voice on AniTube"¹ and promotes what he calls "Christian anime." However, there are some things we can learn and reasons to avoid him. This is not meant to just attack him personally, but rather to inform and to show the results of his stance. First , he labels wicked things "Christian." There are so many examples of this. I would like to reference a specific one, however. " That Time My Wife Reincarnated as an Elementary Schooler is a Christian anime."² What does he mean that such an anime is a Christian anime? Neither reincarnation/possession nor borderline pedophilia are Christian. This just shows he will label wicked things as "Christian" because "it has a good lesson you can get from it." If that's merely all it take...
